Manganese

We manage one of the richest & massive deposits of Manganese ore in Pakistan.  Our mine has been feeding major Ferro Manganese plants in Pakistan and china & till date is the only high purity running mine in Pakistan .

History

More than a decade ago, our team of geologists discovered signs of big Manganese body Near Timarghar District, Chaghai.

We started development of our first Manganese mine known as M1 in 2008. Surface ore purity was up to 58% Mn. Our initial design and development resulted in production of approx. 20,000 tons with average grade of around 42% Mn.

Seeing the growing steel industry demand both in the country and abroad, we continued our survey and developed another mine around 10kms away from the initial discovery known as M2.

M2 was also developed similar to M1 and is in operation with both mines combined producing an average Mn grade of 40%.

Approximate reserve combined of both mines is more than a million tons.

With increased usage of this mineral in newer applications we have further developed a 3rd mine known as M3.

Uses:

Manganese is used to make clear glass, to desulfurize and deoxidize steel in steel production and to reduce the octane rating in gasoline. It also is used as a black-brown pigment in paint and as filler in dry cell batteries. Its alloys help stiffen the aluminum in soft-drink cans, according to Chemicool.
